Of Note

First, it looks like AutoAdmit will soon die either at the hands of its ISP, or its detractors. It's a shame, too, because I've corresponded with one of the founders, Anthony Ciolli, and he seems like a decent guy. Or, then again, maybe not. Either way, however, it looks like he's going to have a lot of trouble getting published in the future.

Second, I'm glad to see that the long-anticipated cage match between AZ and VR for SBA prez will finally bubble over. With regards to VR's statement of candidacy, methinks she doth protest too much with all the talk of which constituency the SBA actually serves and how the lordship, er presidency, should operate. With regards to AZ, all I can say is that it's probably not a good idea to remind people of the email/locker fiasco within your first paragraph. A question, however: why must we vote in the "student commons" when TWEN provides the necessary functionality for those of us too disaffected to get up off our tushes and vote?

Finally, I once again recommend that you all go out and buy cit-r-us, a product recently released by a CU Law 3L. It will change your life.

The sooner the better for auto admit. The crap its users espoused, in particular with regards to the email situation from last year, was sick.

HS hit perfectly on what was bugging me about the statements of interest delivered today. One was upbeat, chipper, but reminded me of the little things I dislike about SBA, like screwing up what should be an easy project. The other tried to tell me the SBA was some special institution...but I still have yet to see that in nearly three years.

Man, that is cynical.

Is TWEN private (i.e. election supervisors can't see who is voting), and does it prevent duplicate voting? If not, it can't be used.

To answer the TWEN question, the administrator of the election on TWEN will be able to see the results live and who voted for whom. It works for small group elections, but not feasiable for a large school election.

HS, you have an equity interest in cit-r-us?

Not at all. I just think it's a good product.

HS, Just curious, you refered to the creator of cit-r-us as a CU law 3L. It was my understanding that said creator was a former CU law student? Has that changed?

He was in the Class of 2007, but, from what I understand, dropped out.

Couple of comments and question regarding the election:

I'm suprised that more people are not running for SBA positions, since people seem to think SBA needs some change. Maybe apathy?

It also puts me in a dilemma as to whether I should even bother to vote: (i) too lazy to walk and vote; and (ii) statements were not that great (either too heavy-handed or without much substance).

Question: are there spaces for voters to vote for write-in candidates for ALL the positions?

Does anyone have an answer as to the write-in candidate option?

I'd appreciate it if you'd serve the Auntie Entity (Tina Turner) graphic from your own server rather than 'bloghumping' the image from mine. I'm sure Blogger has a feature where you can upload your photos from your own account. The practice is courteous amongst bloggers as using other's images skews server log statistics. Thanks.
