In our CrimLaw Reading this week, one of the note cases was Dickerson v. State, 441 So. 2d 536 (Miss. 1983), where a person was convicted of manslaughter because he was going 'slightly over' the speed limit when he hit and killed drunk who had parked his unlit vehicle in the middle of the road.
So, going slightly over the speed limit makes one criminally culpable.
