Okay people. You want to be entertained, but you refuse to step up to the mike yourself. That's just too bad, then, because there won't be any entertainment for you.
This Blawg had its start when a couple of lively, insightful first-year students endowed with a wry sense of humor and a taste for irony decided to express their experiences and observations online. They created this Blawg, and generously invited others to participate, so that many eyes and ears and points of view on the CU Law world could find a home here, including administrators and professors. Those students graduated last spring, and passed the bar (AFAIK) this summer. They might pop in from time to time to comment, but their comments will come from a different perspective than that of student.
But from the beginning, this Blawg has been a STUDENT endeavor, depending entirely on the participation of the reader audience. Where y'all get this idea of "admins" who are supposed to "provide" you with topics to talk about, I cannot imagine, unless it is a sense of lazy entitlement. (that ought to provoke someone to comment). These so-called "admins" are just two or three other students, like you, who are as busy and swamped as you, but whose point of view on school might not be anything at all like yours.
That is why it is so important--if this blawg is to continue, and become more than a vague comment in M.Lo's Agency class--that YOU step up to the plate, and take the time to become a contributor to the Blawg. Tell about what you see, what the experience of law school is like, (how was the Barrister's ball last night?), what strikes YOU as funny, unusual, questionable, changeable?
And we can and must do this with a modicum of respect in accordance with the rules of professionalism and personal responsibility (ie, never say something online that you wouldn't say face-to-face... you have known, ever since that time you griped about your mom when you thought she couldn't hear you but she was right behind you, that there are both appropriate and inappropriate ways of expressing things).

This is really sad.
I shows that not just the willingness but the DESIRE to speak out, even among those who would wield the Sword of Justice, has been crushed out.

the blog got too pretentious, simple as that. debates about free speech, anonymous comments, etc., etc. come on.

So we need to find some people with the time and desire to do this again, instead of posting widely available news sources. We are all busy, but if you take on a commitment it seems strange to then complain that everyone else should take over your responsibilities.
Any lively and insightful 1Ls, 2Ls, 3Ls in the audience who want to make the commitment to being bludgeoned by anonymous comments? Who wouldn't want this job?

thanks coffinberry. i am sick of the whining. i, as an admin, check the blawg every day and post when i have something i think is interesting. i am also busy. i am not going to be responsible for leading a conversation, this isn't group therapy. if you want to chat about something, email an admin to make a post or show us that you are able/willing/trustworthy and we'll give you guest posting privileges. simple as that. also, you cannot expect admins to have moles in the dean's office and every other office in school, and we aren't responsible for providing the gossip you may be seeking. the repeated criticism without substantial solution ideas is not helpful. and this being a law blawg, we want to talk about pretentious law stuff in addition to school gossip and other crap. so. let's move on. i support this blawg and i want it to be successful. and why is the school website not functioning for me? i can't ID ts.
That is a problem memphis-- the law school website not working. I have been trying to look at the Spring Class schedule and to post an event on the calendar-- it doesn't work! frustrating!
is that an issue for Chris Bell? perhaps i should email him. i don't know if school admin make a routine of checking the school website for functionality, though i would think he would keep an eye on it? he probably knows already...
It's probably not going to last long, but it is still annoying and frustrating-- it's been down all day today.
Is Trial Ad required?
no. but you need to satisfy some sort of 'practical' course, trial ad, motions ad, etc. i believe that a clinic satisfies this requirement as well.
My blog is the new hotness, anyway. Get with the trends.
