A word of advice: If your office has a kitchen, and you want to heat up something in the oven to eat for lunch, you might want to check inside before you start preheating. Otherwise, the plastic cup that someone accidentally dropped into the oven might melt, start on fire, and fill the entire office with toxic smoke.
Someone in my office did this today. (Okay, it was me.) Luckily, it’s a small office and the people I work with have a good sense of humor, so we all went out for lunch while we waited for the deadly fumes to clear.
I maintain that it wasn't my fault, because a reasonble person would not expect to find a plastic cup in the oven. But still, it was pretty embarrassing.

At least you did it at the summer job, which implies some sense of temporariness, instead of at home in front of children, thus creating a story that is recited every time you bake, and especially in front of guests.
I'm curious why you were pre-heating the oven in the first place. Don't ppl use microwave nowadays?
